We believe that a collaborative relationship with your third-party provider is key to a successful outsourced service engagement. Any service integrated with the client organization requires effective collaboration between the parties, including collaboration between different third party supplier. Governance structure is both key and necessary and is most successful when “right sized” based on the type of engagement and services. However, such a framework alone cannot assure a successful outcome.
There is an inherent dynamic tension between the various parties delivering and receiving services and what motivates each party will not always be aligned. In our experience, organizations can overcome or manage this tension by creating an environment with clear and aligned objectives built on a collaborative relationship. Such an approach aims to balance control and oversight with the need to drive innovation enabled by self-directed teams.
